Well, not sure if everyone knows this, but Arizona has a monsoon season. Which was precisely the time I had chosen to visit the Grand Canyon. Although their rain storms, which were apparently the worst they've had in years, were comparable to a normal storm in Cincinnati. The recent rain would cause clouds to rise out of the canyon. Which was apparently a rare site, even for the locals. It was business as usual for me and I definitely didn't let it ruin my trip. I took an awesome train trip out to the Canyon from Williams Az. If you've never bent he the Canyon, I would highly suggest it. I know it has 'Grand' in its name and you've seen pictures of it, but the damn thing is absolutely massive. To the point where any time you stop hiking to look at it, you've realized that you've spent 30 minutes just staring at how awe inspiring and vast it is. On a clear day, you can barely see the other side. It. Is. Huge. The wild life was pretty neat too. I was about 10 feet away from the ravens; in which I obviously put a bigger zoom lens on to get even closer. The elk and deer get just as close too. To top it all off I rushed out to Yaki Point to catch the sunset. Which as you can see was down right amazing. Sitting on the edge of a nearly 5000 foot vertical drop watching the sunset decent behind one of natures most awesome creations kind of has an effect on you...
I headed to Buffalo, New York for a family dinner this past March. Great food and family for a weekend is the best vacation. During the time spent, I took a short trip to the American side of Niagara Falls. The power of the water was truly awesome.
It's been pretty uneventful around the Cincinnati area. These pictures were from a local pumpkin patch I went to the with my girlfriend this past October. The farm was a good 45 minutes East of Cincinnati. It was a nice break from the drone of the city to head out to the country and pick out a nice big pumpkin. It was complete with a hay ride, petting zoo, corn maze and of course pumpkins. After exploring the corn maze and petting zoo we took a hay ride to the pumpkin patch to select the "perfect pumpkin". After paying, we headed back home.
